There are many different ways that you or your company can become a sponsor for Jane Street Community Garden. It can be as simple as donating money and noting where you would like to see it be used, perhaps you would like to specifically cover the costs of any (or all) of the projects listed below, or maybe you are able to contribute physical products or materials that would assist in these projects. In return, we will promote your generosity through social media, on our website, in future newsletters as well as signage adjacent to your sponsored item/s.

Here are some projects where we are looking for support:

  • Sugarcane bales for composting hub - $10 each
The West End Composting Hub is a self-funded facility, where the public are welcome to bring down their compostable material. Brown material (carbon) is a fundamental part of composting, and so far, we have not managed to secure a regular, free supply of brown material. Therefore, we purchase sugarcane bales. We work through approximately $150 worth of these every month ($1,800 per year). Without brown material, the composting hub would not be able to run, and without donations or sponsorships we will not be able to afford brown material. Any contribution towards this project would be amazing!

  • Small garden tools - secateurs, spades, gloves etc. - from $20
We are always in need of new, everyday garden equipment.

  • Rat-proof cages over raised garden beds - $200 each
Unfortunately, rodents are a large issue which we must regularly contend with in trying to grow produce. We have found that these cages are the only viable solution to stopping everything being eaten.

  • Water tank - $1,800
We currently do not have a water tank on site to harvest runoff from our undercover area.
We are also be extremely interested in anyone who is able to donate an old water tank (or related materials) to this project.

  • Upgrade and extension of undercover area within the garden - estimated $18,000 total cost
This is a large project that we are aiming to start before the end of the year. The project includes upgrading the existing undercover area, extending the space by another 3x3m, as well as adding solar, lighting and security cameras. We have been awarded a grant of $9,000 from the Federal Government - Stronger Communities 2023, Round 8. This grant accounts for 50% of the estimated total cost of the project. Therefore, any sponsorship, donation or contribution towards this project would be amazing.

Perhaps you would like to simply donate some money to the garden, perhaps you

Perhaps you are apart of a company which is able to support the garden by donating specific products or materials that would help in any (or all) of the following projects

  • Native plants (preferably edible, medicinal or have an interesting ‘use’)

Areas we would love sponsorship:

  • Organic seeds/seedlings

  • Organic fertiliser

  • Organic compost and soil

  • Sugarcane and lucerne mulch

  • Gardening related workshops and education

  • New tools such as shovels and forks

An example of an existing sponsor at the Jane Street Community Gardens is Rocky Point Mulching who supplied us 30 bales of organic sugarcane mulch. Thank you again so much for your generosity!
