There are many different ways that you or your company can become a sponsor for Jane Street Community Garden. It can be as simple as donating money and noting where you would like to see it be used. Or maybe you are able to contribute physical products or materials that would assist us. In return, we are more than willing to promote your generosity through social media, on our website, in future newsletters, signage etc.

Here are some areas where we are looking for support:

  • Seeds, seedlings or plants - from $5
During our working-bees, we grow, manage and harvest produce in our raised garden beds. Harvesting produce is the small way we are able to say thankyou to the dedicated volunteers who give their time to managing the garden. However, even this process costs money. So any donation towards this is greatly appreciated!
Alternatively, if you are willing to physically donate seeds or plants, this would be amazing!

  • Fertilisers - from $10
Organic fertilisers are a key component in edible gardening. Any donations towards this is greatly appreciated!

  • Sugarcane bales for our composting hub - $12 each
Our composting hub is a self-funded facility where the public are welcome to bring down their compostable material. We ask that people add the same amount of straw as the food they put in. This results in us buying up to $120 worth of these bales every month ($1,440 per year). Our goal is to secure free brown material (straw, leaves etc.), but until then, we will need to continue purchasing the bales. Any contribution towards this project would be amazing!

  • Garden tools - secateurs, gloves, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows etc. - from $20
We are always in need of new, everyday garden equipment.

  • Extend irrigation lines - $450
Currently, we have irrigation in the greenhouse as well as the raised garden beds. However, we have a dream of extending the irrigation lines to other parts of the garden.

  • Repair broken bubbler/tap - $450
Last year our bubbler and tap was broken by vandals. We have access to water to hose the garden, but sadly no bubbler or tap for visitors to use.

  • Rat-proof cages over raised garden beds - $500 each
Unfortunately, rodents are a large issue which we must regularly contend with in trying to grow produce. We have found that these cages are the only viable solution to stopping everything being eaten.

  • Fix roof of undercover area - $500
The roof of our undercover area has some leaks and we are looking to replace the existing roof panels. This will require approx. 10 clear corrugated roof panels as well as fixings.

  • Additional raised garden beds - $1,500 each (including a cage over the top)
We currently have 12 raised garden beds, which are rented out. We are looking to install another 3 beds. Sponsoring the build of a new raised garden bed including rental of the plot for 1 year (priced at $500).

  • Water tank - $1,800
We currently do not have a water tank on site to harvest runoff from our undercover area.
We are also be extremely interested in anyone who is able to donate an old water tank (or related materials) to this project.
